Frequently asked questions

Which file types can I extract images from?

PDF, Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx), Excel (.xlsx), Apple Keynote, Pages, Numbers, OpenDocument files, and ZIP archives. Upload one and every image inside is pulled out automatically.

Can I get the images out of a PDF?

Yes. Upload the PDF and we extract every image inside — photos, charts, diagrams and logos. On a scanned PDF each page is usually stored as a single image, so you'll get those full-page images too.

Will the image quality drop?

No. Images from Office and OpenDocument files come out exactly as they were stored, and images from PDFs are re-saved as lossless PNG, so nothing is re-compressed.

Can I upload more than one file?

Yes. Upload up to five files at once and all of their images are collected and shown together in a single gallery.

Is my file stored anywhere?

No. Your file is read on demand to pull out the images and is discarded straight after — we don't keep your files or the images you download.
